Knowing is half the battle

The World Counts was created to make a difference and raise awareness on our current global challenges.

In this era of communication, it aims to share information to as many people as possible and inspire people to do their share and correct the mistakes that are affecting our whole planet.

It tackles subjects that most people avoid talking about or don’t give much attention to. You can find facts pertaining to our planet, our environment,  the depletion of our natural resources, the effects of our population and many others that people avoid talking about.

We also share ideas on how we can make this world a better place.

The materials used on this website are gathered from reputable organizations around the world and from other websites that are making a contribution to these efforts.

What data can you find at The World Counts?

  • Did you know that there are 20 to 30 million slaves across the world today? And a number of them are making your favorite chocolate.
  • Did you know that there is a floating island of garbage in the ocean the size of India, Europe and Mexico combined?
  • Did you know that Coral Reefs are home to 25% of all marine life and that we have already destroyed 27% percent of them? It is estimated that we will destroy 60% in 30 more years!

There are a lot of things that we don’t know, don’t pay attention to or close our eyes to. The World Counts hopes that when you see the environmental awareness facts, you’ll realize the seriousness of these global issues and do your share. Some facts are alarming, some merely amusing, but all of them are good information to have.

At The World Counts we believe that we can all make a difference – we believe we can start a chain of positive changes if we are aware of our impact to the planet and everything living on it. Awareness is the key and this website shows you the numbers to back up the stories they tell.

Check out the different stories told on The World Counts and know the latest facts around the world. After all… you live in this planet too. Don’t you want to know?
